The Ken Bastow Slide Collection was sent by Ed Pickin, England, to share with ASI members. This represents about 300 slides most of which are of aril species. Said slides were collected from different sources. This may account for some irregularities and incomplete information. They are none the less enjoyable to view. We would like to thank Ed for sharing this collection with us.

The slides are of the 1960's vintage. They were basically preserved under good conditions, but time has a way of aging things and people. With a little assistance of computer softwares it helps some, but not entirely. Most of the slides were adjusted so that they could be comfortably viewed on an average size computer screen. A few very faint and very dark ones were tweaked a little with the help of IrfanView.

Since the ASI Checklist is one of mainly registered aril/arilbred cultivars we could not include them, but there is a place for them on our website.
